Accounts Receivable Technician Job Description

The A/R Clerk’s primary responsibilities are to ensure all outstanding accounts are paid in a timely manner. They will follow through on collections, preparing daily cash receipt journals, completing reports and allocating received funds appropriately.

A successful A/R Clerk will be detail-oriented, diplomatic and organized as they collect and account for payments in a manner that improves business relationships. As part of your job, you will be responsible for the following tasks:

Receive and enter customer payments for processing Prepare and balance cash receipt journals and accounts receivable reports on a daily basis. Prepare account statements for clients on a bi-monthly basis and as needed Prepare applicable credit notes and invoices Manage, track and collect accounts received Other general office duties as needed

Qualifications and skills required

● Strong verbal and written communication skills
● Customer-focused attitude, strong customer service skills
● Strong diplomatic, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
● Demonstrated ability to perform accounting functions
● Capable decision-making skills & capacity for sound judgment
● Experience with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office Suite applications
● General administrative duty and office experience
● Post-secondary education in a related field (e.g. Certificate/Diploma in Accounting) is an asset
● Languages required: fluent oral and written French and English
