JOB DESCRIPTION
In collaboration with the Design and Lab Director, the Compliance and Certification Coordinator ensures that iGuzzini /Sistemalux lighting products comply with government standards. The incumbent is responsible for planning, organizing, supervising, and controlling the product certification process, as well as overseeing design-related tests and improvements to existing products.
Key Responsibilities
Define laboratory priorities and work schedules in collaboration with the design, lab, and operations teams;
Plan, supervise, and monitor certification tests to ensure compliance with applicable standards;
Oversee design and product improvement testing (e.g., component compatibility, test benches);
Evaluate and compile test results in reports, charts, and statistics;
Report anomalies observed during testing to relevant agencies (e.g., UL), if applicable;
Serve as the main point of contact for regulatory certification bodies (UL, CSA, ETL, etc.);
Schedule inspector visits and make necessary adjustments to reports as needed;
Ensure that any errors or non-compliance issues are reported and that corrective measures are implemented;
Oversee the labeling of certified products and ensure UL certification compliance for products and components;
Supervise calibration of lab equipment and maintenance of the workspace;
Train staff involved in certification processes across relevant departments;
Collaborate with production to establish compliance testing in accordance with UL and other applicable standards (e.g., UL 1598);
Perform any other related duties as required.
Qualifications
DEC in electrical engineering or industrial design, or a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering;
Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in CAD within a manufacturing environment is considered an asset;
Bilingual (French and English), both spoken and written;
Strong technical comprehension and ability to conceptualize product designs;
Team player with flexibility and autonomy;
Ability to work under pressure with precision, curiosity, and diligence;
Knowledge of UL, CSA, and ETL standards is a strong asset;
Familiarity with the lighting industry, UL certification standards, and the Canadian Electrical Code is a significant asset
